A global leader in power electronics is seeking a Principal Applications Engineer to join their high-performance engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with top-tier customers and contribute to the development of advanced power components and solutions used in next-generation systems across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities:-
Serve as a technical liaison with key customers to secure new business and ensure product designs align with customer requirements through to volume production.

Collaborate with internal application design teams to develop and implement power system solutions that meet stringent performance and reliability standards.

Develop and manage technical documentation including application notes, reference designs, and industry publications to support new product adoption.

Support and train global Field Applications Engineers on new product capabilities, system-level solutions, and customer engagement strategies.

Partner with product design engineering teams to define features and functionality for next-generation power components aligned with market trends and customer needs.

Conduct system-level testing of new power products, validate performance against specifications, and provide feedback to design teams for continuous improvement.

Lead the creation and release of product support tools such as simulation models, evaluation boards, and data sheets, coordinating closely with marketing for launch alignment.

Engage with potential customers to gather detailed application requirements and define strategies to address industry-specific needs.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; Master’s preferred.

10+ years of experience in power electronics design and/or applications engineering.

Proven track record of working with Tier 1 customers to secure design wins and solve complex technical challenges.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional projects and teams.

Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and EMI tools.

Experience designing power systems using advanced power components (experience with VPC chips is a plus).

Familiarity with design and simulation tools such as PSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, MATLAB, Excel, and Mathcad.
