Position Overview:
They are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Mechatronics design to lead the mechanical design and integration of robotic systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and will be responsible for driving the design, development, and optimization of complex mechatronic components within our clients robotic platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of mechatronic systems, ensuring integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing, to deliver highly reliable robotic systems.
- Develop, prototype, and test mechanical systems, including actuators, sensors, and robotics mechanisms.
- Optimize mechanical designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
- Oversee the lifecycle of mechatronic systems from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery and performance targets.
- Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, and simulation of complex electromechanical systems.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in robotics and mechatronics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechatronics and robotics design.
- Strong understanding of mechatronic systems, including actuators, motors, sensors, and control systems.
- Proven experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, ANSYS).
- Expertise in the design and analysis of precision mechanisms, electromechanical systems, and robotic assemblies.
- Experience with system integration, prototyping, and hands-on troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of managing complex projects and mentoring teams.
- Familiarity with robotic standards and safety protocols is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with autonomous systems, industrial robots, or mobile robotics.
- Knowledge of control theory, embedded systems, and programming languages (e.g., Python, C++).
- Familiarity with material selection, manufacturing processes, and mechanical testing methods.
