Senior Backend Engineer / Python

We are currently working with a company in the BioTech industry that specializes in developing and delivering innovative solutions to revolutionize healthcare and improve daily life for all people. A major focus of theirs is in molecular profiling and creating a robust genomic database to help study the complexity of many diseases. They are looking for a Fullstack Python Engineer that has a strong focus on Backend development and implementing data pipelines. 

The ideal applicant will have strong fluency working with Python and React, with a background in collaborating across many teams to gather and define requirements into technical solutions. The main focus will be on building out robust backend systems and REST APIs using Python frameworks like Django or Flask. 

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience using Python for backend development
• Experience with any of the following: Flask, Fast API, Django
• Comfortable maintaining Frontend facing applications in React
• Strong AWS expereince across multiple services such as EC2, Athena, and CDK
• Familiar working with Docker in a corporate environment
• Clear communication, both written and verbal

Desired Skills & Experience

• BS in CS or equivalent related work experience
• Familiar with data engineering concepts and tools for data modeling and database management
• Data Lake or ETL expereince is a bonus
