Senior Network Engineer

Our client is a rapidly growing, Boston-based SaaS company delivering innovative cloud solutions to our clients. The technology-driven team is committed to building secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure to support the expanding customer base. They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our remote team and play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing their network architecture. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of both data center and cloud-based networks. You will work with Cisco routing and switching, manage BGP and OSPF protocols, and implement security policies using Palo Alto firewalls. Additionally, you will drive network automation initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability. About the Job:

• Architect, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable network solutions across data centers and cloud environments.
• Configure and manage Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Implement and optimize BGP and OSPF routing protocols for high availability and performance.
• Configure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT rules, and threat prevention.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Leverage automation to streamline configurations, reduce errors, and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues between hybrid environments.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in complex, large-scale environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Strong expertise with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls.
• Proven experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, or Terraform).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex network issues and performing root cause analysis.
