A robotics startup client of ours based in the Boston area is hiring a Director of Quality Engineering for a full-time leadership role. This company builds advanced mechatronic systems powered by AI and machine learning that are deployed in real-world logistics environments. 

This is an opportunity to build and shape a QA/Test organization from scratch within a cutting-edge robotics company. You’ll work directly with engineering leadership to design automation frameworks, oversee hardware/software integration testing, and drive processes that ensure product excellence. Ideal for someone who has led SQA or validation teams in fast-paced environments and wants to own a function that will scale with the company. Expect growth, high impact, and close collaboration with cross-functional engineering and product teams.

Required Skills & Experience
· 10+ years of experience in QA/testing for integration, performance, and scalability
· Experience testing autonomous or mechatronic systems
· Experience integrating hardware into automated test environments
· 3+ years of experience managing technical teams (hiring, promotions, performance)
· Proficiency in automation frameworks and test suite development
· Excellent written and verbal communication skill

Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience with testing ML-based systems
· Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
· Experience specifying/designing custom test hardware
· Background working in Agile environments
