Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Job Description Our client in the banking industry is hiring for an Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer in Charlotte, NC. This is a mid-level position looking for a candidate who has a strong information security engineering background with a desire to leverage their skills and take part in evaluations of various security challenges.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about security infrastructure, identity management, and automation.

Contract Duration: 12 months
Hybrid in Charlotte, NC Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience
• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate infrastructure deployment and updates
• Experience with cloud SDKs — GCP preferred, but Azure or AWS also acceptable
• GitOps familiarity — managing infrastructure/config using Git workflows
• Jenkins experience — reviewing build pipelines and error logs
• Python scripting (or similar scripting experience)
• Solid understanding of IAM principles and cloud security best practices (least privilege, roles, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following:
• Work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.

• Terraform: ~50% – Primary tool for infrastructure automation
• Cloud Platforms (GCP/Azure/AWS): ~30% – Working within cloud environments (GCP preferred)
• GitOps, Jenkins, and Scripting (Python): ~20% – Supporting CI/CD and configuration management
