Job Title: Supervisor of Technology and Operations
Location: Charlotte, NC (On-site, 5 days a week)


Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Supervisor of Technology and Operations to join our team at a leading news station in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in systems and networking, combined with a solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and PC imaging. This role requires a proactive leader with experience managing teams and handling day-to-day technical operations. Industry experience is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Oversee daily operations of the technology and systems department, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all IT systems.
  • Systems & Networking: Manage and troubleshoot basic networking issues, reimage PCs, and handle system configurations.
  • Active Directory & Group Policy: Administer and manage Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and security settings.
  • Cabling & Infrastructure: Supervise cabling installations and maintenance, ensuring all physical infrastructure supports operational needs.
  • Ticketing System Management: Oversee the IT ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of issues and maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and execute IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure that all IT operations adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience:
    • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT systems and networking.
    • Strong understanding of Windows environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
    • Experience with IT ticketing systems and PC imaging.
    • Previous management or lead experience in a technology-focused role.

Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of broadcast technology and operations.
