Desktop Support Specialist//IT Support

One of Chicago’s largest and oldest private investment companies and family offices located in downtown Chicago is seeking a Desktop and General Operations Support Specialist. This will be a fulltime position and start off onsite and then become hybrid.

This individual must interact professionally with all levels of the organization. Must function as a team player with a true spirit of cooperation and willingness to ensure a smooth and effective operation. They will be a self-starter who will stay abreast of new technology standards, has a strong attention to detail and quickly responds to support requests.

Required Skills & Experience

• Microsoft server/desktop product skills, including maintenance, tuning, and security
• Desktop/Laptop builds and support (60% of role)
• Server and infrastructure builds and support (training provided if minimal experience)
• Windows 2022 Server, Windows 11
• MS Office
• Network Infrastructure: Firewalls, Switches, Windows Servers, LAN/WAN, Cyber Security
• Patch management with KACE
• Familiarity with NIST 2.0 (planned rollout for 2025)
• Security vulnerability management (log review or third-party coordination)
• Fortinet firewall experience
• Basic Windows Server administration (tuning, security, maintenance; in-house training provided)

Desired Skills & Experience

• 1-3 years in IT support or related role
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Azure cloud experience (a plus)
