Engineering Director / Java / Kafka / AWS / Hybrid in Chicago

This financial company in the Chicago Area is looking for a full-time Engineering Director to help as they complete their massive migration of their legacy systems to modern technology. As this migration concludes, they will continue to build new features using Java, Kafka and the suite of AWS services. This position is hybrid in the Chicago loop.

This opportunity will allow you to have major decisions in the impact of this new platform. This platform allows the company to perform core business functions and conduct business in the most efficient manner. This highly collaborative role will allow you to manage and make design decisions for the future of this platform. You will be responsible for 10-15 engineers and will be vital as the engineering department of this company continues to grow!

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience leading a team writing code in Java
• Experience with Kafka Streaming
• Experience with public cloud
