A trading firm is looking for an individual to join their team as a Trading System Operator. They are a group of software engineers, quants, and IT experts responsible for deploying an in-house algorithmic trading system. This system is marketed through their FINRA member broker-dealer unit, which services top-tier institutional clients, including hedge funds, primary dealers, and proprietary trading groups.
Trading System Operator will oversee the Asian trading session from the firm's primary office in Chicago, IL. This role involves monitoring and supporting both an algorithmic trade execution system and a web-based real-time middle and back-office risk system. The position requires vigilant oversight of multiple systems and markets during the shift. Working hours are Monday through Thursday from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM CST, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 11:30 PM CST.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field (BS or BA).
- Prior experience working in a trading environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Frequent use of instant messaging, email, and telephone for communication with management and clients.
- Strong independent work ethic with keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Proven experience in analyzing system logs for issue diagnosis.
- Basic network troubleshooting skills, including ping, nslookup, iproute2, and telnet.
- Exceptional analytical abilities and a passion for investigative research.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Experience with one or more of the following: SQL, Python, C#, R, C++.
- QA testing experience or scripting skills.
- Proficiency with bash and ssh.
- Familiarity with Nagios monitoring tools.
