Senior .NET Desktop Engineer / Dallas, TX

This Dallas based company is a leader in radiation detection, measurement, and monitoring solutions, serving industries like nuclear power, healthcare, military, and industrial sectors. They specialize in providing critical products for radiation detection, dosimetry, and nuclear instrumentation, as well as advanced solutions for medical imaging and radiation therapy. With a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance, their innovative technologies help ensure the protection of people and environments in radiation-exposed industries.

They are seeking a .NET Desktop Engineer to support API development for optimizing system installation processes. Required Skills & Experience 

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on desktop applications.
• Strong expertise in C# and .NET 4.8+ (or higher) frameworks.
• Proficient in WPF for building modern desktop UI applications.
• Experience with WCF services and knowledge of inter-process communication techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Entity Framework for ORM and database handling.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and database management systems.
• Solid understanding of C/C++ for low-level application development.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and application stability.
• Experience working with source control tools like Git.
• Ability to work in an Agile development environment, with familiarity in Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications using C# and .NET 4.8+ frameworks.
• Develop and maintain WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) applications for creating intuitive and user-friendly UI.
• Implement and consume WCF services for inter-process communication and distributed applications.
• Work with Entity Framework for data modeling and database interaction.
• Collaborate in the design and optimization of database solutions using SQL Server.
• Develop and integrate native applications using C/C++ for performance-critical components.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and QA, to ensure successful product delivery.
• Assist in API programming to facilitate system installations and integrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews.

 Office Location:

• Carrolton, TX
• Hybrid (3-5 days onsite depending on current project)
