A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a Sr. Procedure/Controls Writer in Des Moines, IA (Hybrid). This role will be responsible for strengthening the control environment. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, a team first mindset, and acumen in relationship building to drive results.

Contract Duration: 6 months + possible extensions/conversion 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of Procedure/Control Writing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience with control procedure writing and control policies.

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership and technology teams.

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques.

  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.

  • Experience researching, developing, writing, and editing operational procedures and documents.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to prepare correspondence; memorandum; reports; presentations or other assigned documentation.

  • Experience with analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Review and rewrite business and control procedures to align with policy expectations.

  • Create or update control procedures for all in flight Issues/CAs where needed within the Issue/CA due dates.

  • Complete a full review and revision/uplift of all Earn and Account Management procedures to align with policy.

  • Participate in the hand-off of procedures for controls.

  • Optimize the control and procedure environment.

  • Participate in establishing guidelines and design of work.

  • Review regulatory changes or partner with regulatory change agents to proactively identify required updates.

  • Maintain document library or repository and update tables in appropriate systems.

  • Review changes to business operations for potential impact to other operations and procedures.

  • Draft, edit and format basic to moderately complex technical manuals, projects or other technical documentation.

  • Understand Business Operations policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Assist others to resolve process gaps, providing input based on observations.

  • Research and translate technical information to users.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals SMEs, engineering team and production support team to participate.

  • Interact with internal customers - Engineering/Platform Management.

  • Partner with subject matter professionals to understand business needs as it relates to procedures.

  • Recommend and document business procedures and best practices, identifying process gaps and offering alternatives.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
