Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design using CAD or SolidWorks, a deep understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and at least 5 years of professional experience. Experience in robotics or camera design will be highly valuable. In this role, you’ll work on innovative products that are transforming industries like search-and-rescue, robotics, and imaging technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of advanced systems using CAD or SolidWorks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability objectives.
- Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize designs for production efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Design and develop robotic systems or camera mechanisms that meet rigorous technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems, identify areas for improvement, and optimize overall performance.
- Prepare engineering documentation, including CAD drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to help drive innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Experience in robotics or camera design is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical systems analysis experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision.
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or other simulation tools.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) and prototyping.
- Familiarity with automation, control systems, or mechatronics.
