A client in the Insurance Industry is seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Cloud Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure and VMware to join an IT team consisting of 3-5 Engineers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and systems administration. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud environments and virtual infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation:
    • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure.
    • Configure and manage VMware environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
  • System Administration:
    • Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all cloud and virtual resources.
    • Manage and maintain server environments, including patch management, upgrades, and performance tuning.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud and virtual infrastructure.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain security best practices for cloud and virtual environments.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
  • Automation and Optimization:
    • Develop automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
    • Optimize cloud and virtual infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
    • Monitor resource usage and recommend optimizations to reduce costs.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Collaborate with development teams to support cloud-based application deployment and lifecycle management.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT team members and stakeholders.
    • Document cloud and virtualization architecture, configurations, and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
    • 3+ years of experience managing VMware environments.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and architecture (Azure VMs, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, etc.).
    • Expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
    • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or equivalent.
    • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
    • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar are highly desirable.
