A national financial institution that has been in business since 1980 with over 740 branches across 17 states is looking to hire a Network Engineer II on a full-time direct hire basis. They are located North of Houston in the The Woodlands, TX. This will be a hybrid position.
As a Network Engineer II in this role you’ll be responsible for analyzing, implementing, installation, configuration, break-fix support, design, and daily operation of all aspects of the LAN/WAN network infrastructure. There is a heavy focus on day-to-day operations of circuit migrations, troubleshooting, tickets, and circuit audits. You will also work with the field services team on troubleshooting cabling.

Required Skills & Experience
- 4 years of IT related experience with at least 2 years in Network Engineering
- Basic understanding in routing and switching design, protocols, standards and best practices
- CCNA certification
- Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Formerly Viptela)
- Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center
- Knowledge of Meraki wireless
- Knowledge of VXLAN spine and leaf technology

- Responsible for resolving network problems through research on network installation and customization, network administration and network management support.
- Applies broad technical knowledge for systems and solution design within the LAN/WAN network system and infrastructure realm to improve efficiency and resiliency.
- Applies technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and customers based on defined requirements.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of the network infrastructure (i.e., Cabling-Racking/LAN/WAN/VPN/Network Security and Wireless)
- Actively monitor and respond to system alerts across all Infrastructures using our networking monitoring tools.
- Maintain network applications, tools, and hardware versions by upgrading as required to ensure supportability.
- Configure, optimize, and fine-tune monitoring systems.
- Supports all data network circuits throughout the business network footprint.
- Participate in vendor evaluation / lab testing of new technologies and decision support.
- Participate in projects as they are assigned.
- Maintain high quality documentation for core and edge networks, products, and services.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Create and monitor reports to stay in compliance for vulnerabilities and bug remediation.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Maintains job relevance, advanced level of knowledge, skills and abilities needed for effective job performance through continuous learning efforts (i.e., attends outside training seminars, workshops, or classes).
- May receive training in other technical or functional areas of the department.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.
