Big Data Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, EE, Mathematics or related majors.
• 5-7 years of experience in Application Development in Big Data
• 3-5 years of experience working with Spark, Python, PySpark
• Experience working with Data Modeling & DWH Designing, PL/SQL and HQLs, Hadoop, Hive, ETL Designing
• Team player and self-motivator
• Good communications skills
• Keen eye for identifying potential design flaws and proposing alternative solutions

Desired Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Financial Markets like Equities, Fixed Income and Securities Services will be an added advantage.
• Financial knowledge or background is a plus.

What You Will Be Doing

• Create and deliver a client profitability framework and reporting tools to accurately measure revenues, capital, and returns for the group.
• Design, execute, and build automated solutions to generate profitability models and make it available through various distribution channels.
• Build processes and tools to maintain high data availability, quality, and maintainability.
• Ability to translate business concepts to technical terms.
• Engage with business partners to understand their needs and provide suggestions/guidance on appropriate solutions to solve their problems with pros/cons articulated clearly
• Drive internal proof of concept initiatives. When needed, quickly design and implement a prototype of a system or component with a proper architecture that can be fully built-out once validated.
• Apply creative thinking/approach to determine technical solutions that further business goals while aligning to the broader technology strategies, keeping in mind performance, reliability, scalability, usability, security, flexibility, and cost.
