A well-known stable company in the King of Prussia area is seeking a Senior Data Center Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data center infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VMware, SAN technologies, backups, and Azure cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage VMware virtualization infrastructure to support critical business applications and services.
  • Implement and maintain storage area networks (SAN) to ensure high availability and performance of data storage systems.
  • Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard business-critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Azure cloud solutions, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) offerings.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization of data center infrastructure components.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of data center infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to escalated technical issues in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting data center infrastructure solutions.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
  • Strong knowledge of SAN technologies such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NAS.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing backup solutions using industry-leading tools such as Veeam, Commvault, or similar.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services and technologies.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
  • Experience with software-defined storage solutions such as VMware vSAN or similar.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect).
