Join a well-established IT services provider in Lockport, IL that’s been supporting businesses in the manufacturing, industrial, and commercial sectors for over 30 years. Our client is hiring a full-time Field Technician to support a diverse range of clients across the Chicagoland area. This is a hybrid role involving both remote IT support and on-site visits, giving you exposure to a wide variety of technologies including networks, servers, workstations, and common business applications.

Tired of doing the same thing every day? In this Field Technician role, no two days are the same. You’ll be onsite at multiple client locations each week, solving real problems and building relationships. We're looking for a client-facing IT generalist with experience working in MSP or consulting environments—someone who enjoys variety, independence, and fast-paced learning. You'll work with a sharp team that values ownership, grit, and a sense of humor. This role is perfect for someone looking to build deep technical skills and gain exposure to different environments while maintaining a healthy life-work balance.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 1+ year experience in an MSP, IT consulting firm, or similar fast-paced support role
  • Strong troubleshooting experience across:
  • Workstations, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Windows Server and Windows OS (7–11)
  • Network basics: routers, switches, firewalls
  • Experience supporting common business software (Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Adobe, etc.)
  • Comfort working directly with clients in person and remotely
  • Must reside near Lockport, IL and have reliable transportation for client site visits Desired Skills & Experience
    • Experience working with manufacturing or industrial clients
    • Exposure to cloud platforms like Office 365 or Microsoft Azure
    • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT documentation tools
    • Solid understanding of Layer 1–3 support
    • Customer-first mindset and professional communication skills

    Tech Breakdown
    • 35% Windows OS (7–11), workstations & laptops
    • 25% Windows Server environments
    • 20% Networking (Layer 1–3: routers, switches, firewalls)
    • 10% Office 365 / Cloud tools
    • 10% Business apps (QuickBooks, Adobe, ERP software)
    Daily Responsibilities
    • 50% Onsite client support and scheduled visits
    • 30% Remote support and ticket resolution
    • 20% Internal collaboration with tech team
