Assistant CISO / Higher Education / Hybrid in Los Angeles

A major university campus is looking for an Assistant Chief Information Security Officer to oversee the Information Security Operations Center, Security Engineering teams, and the IAM team. You'll be responsible for providing strategic direction and managing these units, ensuring goals are met, and the university's overarching security program is up to standard. You'll report directly to the CISO and oversee day to day security operations. You'll be responsible for the larger infrastructure security of the campus and various departments.

This role is 50% on-site in Los Angeles.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in security (cybersecurity, computer science, information technology)
• 5+ years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role
• In-depth knowledge of information security functional areas and as it relates to larger security operations in a complex environment
• Experience leading and managing incident response teams
• Strong technical skills with tooling such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and endpoint protection
• Experience in higher education a plus but not required
