Position Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished and dynamic leader to oversee the data department, focusing on the creation and optimization of data infrastructure from the ground up. This role involves managing and guiding teams in Data Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics, ensuring effective integration of third-party data sources and the development of scalable data systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of building data architectures, and experience with SQL to manage large datasets. This position requires a visionary leader who can build and scale data infrastructure, driving both innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Infrastructure Initiatives: Spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive data systems and infrastructure strategies tailored to meet organizational needs.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor a diverse team of data professionals, ensuring effective collaboration between engineering, science, and analytics functions.

  • Strategic Data Management: Develop and implement strategies to manage large volumes of third-party data, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility for cross-functional teams.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure data initiatives are aligned with broader organizational goals and needs.

  • Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations of the data department, driving efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and innovation.

  • Hybrid Work Arrangement: This position supports a hybrid work environment with in-office collaboration 2-3 times per week.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading data teams and building data infrastructure from the ground up.

  • Strong technical skills in SQL, with experience working with large, complex datasets, particularly from third-party sources.

  • Leadership experience with a focus on team growth, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Ability to strategize and execute end-to-end data systems development, ensuring scalability and sustainability.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, translating business needs into data solutions.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to evolving data challenges.
