Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in McKinney, Texas. This role is an exciting opportunity for a versatile and hands-on professional who is comfortable being a "jack of all trades" in a dynamic IT environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Tier 3 support across a range of systems, networking, and cloud environments, and will play a pivotal role in maintaining, optimizing, and scaling our IT infrastructure.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining mission-critical systems and networks, working with cutting-edge technologies, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of our infrastructure. The role requires a highly skilled individual who can manage and troubleshoot across multiple platforms, including Windows, networking hardware (Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, Juniper), Azure cloud environments, VPN configurations, and routing and switching for new environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tier 3 Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for Windows-based systems, networking hardware, and cloud environments. Act as the go-to resource for escalated issues.

• Networking: Manage and support complex networking solutions, including Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, and Juniper devices. Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching configurations.

• Azure: Work extensively with Azure services, including virtual networks, cloud computing, and other Azure infrastructure components. Optimize and manage cloud environments for scalability, security, and efficiency.

• VPN and Security: Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain VPNs and other security protocols to ensure secure remote access to corporate networks. Implement best practices for secure communication across all systems.

• Routing and Switching: Design, configure, and support routing and switching infrastructures for new environments, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and performance.

• System Maintenance: Regularly update and patch systems, hardware, and software to keep environments secure and running smoothly.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and scale new infrastructure solutions. Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, network setups, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with Tier 3 support in a multi-platform environment (primarily Windows).

• Proficiency with networking hardware and technologies including Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, and Juniper devices.

• Extensive experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, services, and management.

• Expertise in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting VPNs and remote access solutions.

• Strong understanding of routing and switching principles and hands-on experience with various routing/switching platforms.

• Familiarity with enterprise-level networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).

• Ability to work on a wide range of technologies and serve as the "jack of all trades" for infrastructure solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical issues.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and explain complex concepts to non-technical staff.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Azure certifications, or equivalent.

• Experience in implementing and managing large-scale cloud environments.

• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

• Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
