Job Description

A nonprofit organization in Media, PA is seeking a Director of IT to lead their technology operations. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure, ensuring the effective and secure operation of systems, and aligning technology initiatives with the organization’s mission. Your focus will be on managing day-to-day IT functions, including network systems, cloud services, security, and support, while driving continuous improvements in technology management.

This position is ideal for an experienced IT leader with a strong background in managing complex IT operations and leading technical teams. You will work closely with senior management, internal teams, and external vendors to ensure IT services support the organization’s objectives and deliver high-quality, secure, and efficient technology solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience managing IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in overseeing and managing relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and other technology partners
  • Strong understanding of network and endpoint security, including intrusion detection and anti-malware technologies
  • Expertise in cloud services (Microsoft Office 365, Azure, AWS) and business applications
  • Experience with IT governance, including developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Familiarity with asset lifecycle management and hardware/software upgrades
  • Proficiency in IT service management frameworks and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in recruitment, training, and staff development

  • Experience in managing IT service delivery for large, multifaceted organizations
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability solutions
  • Knowledge of vendor management and contract negotiation
  • Understanding of compliance standards and cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience in managing IT budgets and ensuring cost-effective technology operations

What You Will Be Doing

  • Overseeing the IT operations, ensuring the effective functioning of hardware, software, and network systems
  • Leading a team of IT professionals, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities
  • Managing the relationship with the organization’s Managed Service Provider and other external technology partners
  • Implementing and maintaining IT governance policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensuring the security of the organization’s IT infrastructure and data
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to align IT strategy with the organization’s mission and goals
  • Monitoring and optimizing the organization’s technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts and resolving any technical issues impacting operations
  • Staying current with technology trends and advancements, recommending improvements to enhance service delivery
