A leading enterprise organization with multi-cloud infrastructure is seeking a Director of DevOps to lead a growing engineering team focused on building and optimizing cloud-native environments across AWS and other cloud platforms. This is a 70% management / 30% hands-on leadership role, ideal for experienced DevOps professionals who are passionate about automation, infrastructure scalability, and building high-performing teams.
This role offers a hybrid work environment with offices in Paramus, NJ, Wilmington, DE, or Milwaukee, WI. Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers in designing and managing scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure

Guide the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and container orchestration strategies

Collaborate with enterprise architects, software engineers, and IT leadership on cloud strategy and architecture decisions

Drive automation and performance optimization across AWS and other cloud platforms

Support implementation and integration of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions where applicable

Manage cost optimization, security compliance, and availability across multi-cloud infrastructure

Provide hands-on support and technical leadership for complex system architecture, incident resolution, and strategic initiatives

Develop documentation, policies, and governance for DevOps best practices
Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure

3+ years in a leadership or management role within DevOps or CloudOps teams

Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation); familiarity with GCP or Azure is a plus

Expertise with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles

Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes, especially EKS

Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)

Familiarity with cloud security best practices, IAM, secrets management, and compliance frameworks

Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and executive stakeholders
Nice to Have

Experience with enterprise architecture or contributing to enterprise-wide platform strategies

Hands-on experience or leadership in RPA implementation

Familiarity with container management tools such as Helm, ArgoCD, or Flux

Experience with observability platforms like Datadog, ELK, or Prometheus/Grafana

Scripting experience (Python, Go, Shell) for automation and tooling

Knowledge of DevSecOps and Agile methodologies
