They are currently looking for a skilled Workday Extend Engineer for a 90-day contract engagement. In this hybrid New York City-based role, the engineer will lead the development and deployment of custom applications within the Workday ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of Workday Extend and related technologies, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and building custom solutions using Workday Extend, integrating APIs, and working closely with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical outcomes.
Requirements:

3+ years of experience with Workday Extend application development and deployment

5+ years of software development experience for enterprise SaaS applications

Strong knowledge of Workday Studio, Workday Cloud Platform SDK, and Workday APIs

Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, RESTful APIs

Familiarity with Workday data models and business processes

Experience with REST, SOAP, Graph, XML, and JSON integration technologies

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Comfortable working independently and within a team

Experience with Git or other version control systems

Adaptable and quick to learn new technologies
Responsibilities:

Design, build, test, and deploy applications using Workday Extend

Develop and maintain integrations between Workday and external systems

Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications

Produce detailed design documentation including process flows and data models

Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing

Optimize application and integration performance

Troubleshoot and support Workday Extend applications

Follow Workday best practices and security standards

Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams
Preferred:

Workday Extend Developer certification

Familiarity with additional Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Finance)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and security practices for API integrations

Understanding of employer benefits and benefits enrollment workflows
