Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Experience supporting high-availability database clusters with replication and sharding
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with solid knowledge of MySQL internals
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible)
- Strong background in Linux systems and shell scripting
- Understanding of zero-downtime migrations and database performance tuning
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or Golang
- Knowledge of caching tools such as Redis or Memcached
- Familiarity with DataDog, CircleCI, or similar monitoring platforms
- Experience supporting data compliance initiatives (SOC2, ISO, HIPAA)
- Background in scripting, automation, and CI/CD systems
- Experience in startup environments or scaling database systems in fast-growing teams
