Description: Senior Software Engineer supporting BH Pathology Informatics
Fully Remote but local candidates who can come onsite to visit the lab to understand the workflow and support it
Once a month maximum at BWH- 75 Francis
5+ years of experience
Hours/ schedule : 40hrs/week, business hours EST

Qualifications:

"must-haves" - .NET, C# , Microsoft Sequel proficiency
"nice to have"- Python, Java

1. Bachelors degree required, MS preferred computer science and/or the life sciences and 5+ years relevant experience.
2. Back end and API development using Python (not required but preferred), NodeJS, C#, Java, R, Perl.
3. SQL proficiency using MySQL and/or SqlServer
4. Web development using Angular 6+, Python Flask (ASP.NET would be a plus).
5. Familiarity SDLC principles.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts.
7. Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.

3 rounds of interviews

technical screening (2-4 questions live coding C#)
Take home challenge code in .net and send in 3-4 business days max
If all goes well then final technical detail interview with team lead. 1 1/2- 2 hours

Some healthcare experience would be a plus

The position requires the ability to support multiple projects in all development roles, mentor more junior staff, and apply technology expertise. Software Engineers are able to manage an entire project in their respective area and they possess a technical competency within their area (i.e. applications development, Network/Systems Administration, Business/Financial/Clinical Systems). Additionally, Software Engineers must have the ability to negotiate the products and deliverables of a project. They are also able to prioritize the tasks of a projects time-line to achieve the desired departmental and end-user requirements. They share their expertise for the good of the organization by mentoring, coaching and giving general direction to other teammates. They generally hold a Bachelors Degree in computer science or other related field and commonly have 8+ years experience.
