Our client, a stealth startup in the robotics and AI space, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer. This individual will lead the design and development of cutting-edge electrical systems for robotics and consumer products. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical expertise, creativity, and leadership to guide the evolution of hardware systems from prototype to production-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all electrical engineering efforts for hardware development, including electrical system design, prototype integration, and transition to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions focused on performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of motor controllers for precise motion control and high-performance robotics applications.
  • Select, integrate, and optimize critical sensors and actuators for robotic functionality.
  • Design and analyze complex circuits, including power electronics, signal processing, and communication systems.
  • Lead PCB design and manufacturing efforts ensuring ease of assembly and alignment with production goals.
  • Develop power management systems and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Ensure designs meet high consumer-grade standards for durability and cost optimization.
  • Work on embedded systems and firmware for hardware operation and integration with robotics systems.
  • Contribute to the development of advanced robot control systems, including PID and adaptive algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on robotics or consumer hardware products.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware design and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certification processes for consumer electronics.
  • Advanced degree is a plus but not required.
