Field Engineer/Hybrid/MSP

We are currently seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join the team of a local Managed Service Provider (MSP) in supporting their clients with technical on-site services. 
This company is looking for someone with Window Server experience, VMware, InTune, Office 365 to Routing/Switching, Firewalls, VPNs and Wireless.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support and assistance to clients, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install and configure hardware (e.g., PCs, servers, networking equipment, printers) and software solutions per client specifications.
  • Perform system upgrades and patch management for client environments.
  • Assist with network configurations and perform basic network troubleshooting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client-facing escalations, resolving issues quickly and professionally.
  • Support local and remote teams to ensure the delivery of top-tier service to clients.
  • Document all work completed, following company processes for ticketing and reporting.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and work to identify opportunities for additional service offerings.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients regarding technology usage and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Field Engineer, IT Support Specialist, or in a similar role within an MSP or IT services environment.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, hardware, and software configurations.
  • Experience with remote support tools and service ticketing systems (e.g., ConnectWise, ServiceNow, etc.).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and other common enterprise-level IT solutions.
  • Familiarity with routing and switching, firewalls, and VPN configurations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing client needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit client sites.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Previous experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
