This team is leading a major state agency modernization effort called MAX Operations, a project that has essentially solved the DMV problem. Everything is fully digital, cleanly formatted, and supported by AI-driven camera agents, creating an experience where people can get in and out of an Arizona DMV in under 15 minutes.
They are hiring a Microsoft DBA with strong Azure SQL experience to help build, migrate, and stabilize the next generation of data systems. You will play a key role in moving legacy DMV data into a modern, cloud-aligned architecture that powers this new digital workflow.
What You Will Do-
Lead and execute database migrations from legacy systems into the new MAX Operations platform

Work across both Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server environments

Support new database development, performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting

Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure data structures support redesigned workflows

Ensure reliability, security, and long-term stability of the updated DMV data infrastructure

Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server

Hands-on experience with Azure SQL

Background in data migrations and or net new database development

Ability to operate within a large-scale modernization project
