Our client is looking for a Network Administrator for a 2-month contract in Salem, OR 97301.

Our client is a multibillion-dollar company that provides end-to-end managed services, technology, and consulting to enable the digital workplace for small to enterprise businesses. Required Skills & Experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent. (three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.)
  • 4+ years of combined experience in a Site Support Technician and/or Infrastructure Technician role (or similar experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in racking, stacking, connecting, and providing basic configuration support of networking or server devices.
  • 3+ years of combined experience working in data centers, labs, or server room environments.
  • Data center experience.
  • Network cabling certifications.
  • Belden Certified Cable Installer experience.
  • SYSTIMAX Installation and Maintenance experience.
  • Corning Certified Fiber Installer certifications
    Panduit experience.
  • Experience in
    • Structured Network Cabling
    • Copper: Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Connector Types RJ45
    • Fiber: Multimode, Single Mode, Connector Types – ST, SC, LC
    • WIFI H/W
    • Wireless LAN Controllers
    • Wireless Access Points
    • Networking
    • IP Addressing, Layer 2 VLAN etc
    • Experienced in Ethernet Switching H/W
    • Chassis, Supervisor, Line Cards, Power Supplies etc
    • Transceiver Types – SX, LX, SR, LR etc
    • Cable Troubleshooting Knowledge / Experience
    • Fluke Testers: Copper - Wire Map, Link Test etc, Fiber – OTDR Testing
    • Fluke Aircheck: Wireless Testing
    • Competencies
  • Proven ability to Install cable pathways, conveyances (i.e., ladder, trays, support systems)
    Knowledge of terminology pertaining to installation & service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read cable matrix blueprints, mechanical, and or electrical requirement documents.
  • Complete physical cable installations and removal of cabling components, TOR (top of rack) switches, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, network gear and related communications infrastructure hardware and materials.
  • Ability to withstand working in a hot enclosed environment for short time spans required (i.e., data center hot isles)
  • Able to perform work while on a ladder (use of ladders is required for top of rack installations)
  • Able to work independently as well as in teams of 3-4 and be flexible.
  • Able to lift 35 lbs. solo.
    Willing to travel between buildings using personal car/foot.
  • May be required to walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods.
  • Excellent customer service skills and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word primarily), Windows 10.
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
  • Perform installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and 7, and Fiber Optic cabling.
  • Assist with material control to ensure all required materials are available to complete the daily work.
  • Ensure quality and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure ticketed requests are assigned, communicated, and addressed within customer SLA.
  • Perform quality evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot cabling systems, and perform replacement/repairs as necessary.
  • Provide support in assisting data center teams and data center managers in accomplishing daily infrastructure new landings within SLA.
  • Receive Hardware shipments for data center equipment landings.
  • Validation Purchase Order accuracy of Hardware received.
  • Unboxing and Recycling of materials.
  • Move Equipment from dock to staging areas and or to DC racks.
  • Installation or retrofitting of server racks - rail and shelving installation.
  • Power and network cable installation and cable management.
  • Scanning and Labeling of installed devices (network or server).
  • Designate parts identified for spare part stock inventory.
  • Proper e-waste handling and disposal.
  • Equipment shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Provide Escort Service for vendors/techs.
  • Work Request Tasks from the Service Now ticket system.
