We’re looking for a Senior Design Technologist to play a key role in enhancing and maintaining a large-scale design system for a leading technology company. This role will be critical in ensuring consistency and refinement across multiple applications while collaborating closely with engineering teams.
This is a 12-month contract covering for an employee on leave, with a potential opportunity for extension or conversion based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain design system components to ensure a unified user experience across all applications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate and optimize design system components.
- Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React to build reusable, scalable front-end components.
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG) best practices are embedded into the design system.
- Establish design tokens and schemas for system-wide consistency.
- (Bonus) Develop tooling for Figma or similar platforms to enhance design system tracking and adoption.
- Strong Front-End Development background with an understanding of design principles.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.
- Understanding of accessibility best practices (WCAG).
- Experience working with APIs and component libraries.
- Knowledge of Shadow DOM and related challenges is a plus.
- Work on high-impact projects shaping the future of a company-wide design system.
- Collaborate with global teams across the US, Ukraine, and Europe.
