Staff Node.JS Typescript Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Node.JS Typescript Engineer to join our fully remote AI Team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping AI-driven customer experiences. You will design and build intelligent systems that enable natural, engaging conversations between users and the platform, translating high-level product initiatives into scalable, reliable, and well-tested technical solutions.

This role is highly hands-on and leadership-oriented. You will set technical direction on complex initiatives, mentor engineers, and help evolve our AI and LLM-driven infrastructure. You will work closely with Product, Data Science, and other engineering teams to solve ambiguous problems and deliver meaningful outcomes.


Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in production environments
• 4+ years operating at a senior or staff-level engineering capacity
• Proven ability to lead complex projects from concept through delivery
• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript in backend systems
• Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs and implementing business logic over data stores
• Experience building and scaling backend services in distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and analytics tools (e.g., GCP, BigQuery, Looker) is a plus
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in asynchronous tools and technical documentation
• Prior experience influencing product decisions and technical strategy
• Demonstrated success collaborating across engineering, product, and data disciplines

Desired Skills & Experience

• Own the ideation, design, and execution of high-impact initiatives that directly influence customer experience and business results
• Define and evolve the Conversational AI engineering roadmap in partnership with product and technical leadership
• Lead projects end-to-end: identifying opportunities, designing solutions, and driving implementation
• Establish technical standards, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and mentor engineers across the team
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate with external partners and third-party platforms
• Normalize, rank, and evaluate outcomes using ML-driven predictions to guide optimal user flows
• Partner closely with Data Science to leverage machine learning models for forecasting, decision logic, and personalization
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance as usage and complexity grow
