Java/Node - AI Authentication and Security - Onsite in SF

Anon is pioneering the identity layer for the automated internet, enabling AI agents to securely integrate with any service on behalf of users. Since launching in 2023, we've scaled rapidly, powering the next generation of AI applications. With $13M+ in funding from top investors, we're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us build and scale our core infrastructure and APIs. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape the future of AI authentication and security. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll have ownership over key features, solve complex problems in authentication and security, and collaborate with top-tier engineers in a fast-moving, well-funded startup. Required Skills & Experience

• 5-8+ years of backend development experience
• Proficiency in Java and Node.js (TypeScript preferred)
• Strong experience designing and maintaining REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud infrastructure
• Background in data engineering and scalable data pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, authentication protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect), and security best practices

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with Playwright, Puppeteer (browser automation)
• Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP, TCP, TLS)
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party services (e.g., Supabase, Stytch)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a builder mentality

• 50% Java & Node.js Backend (TypeScript preferred)

• 20% Cloud & Kubernetes Development

Daily Responsibilities

• 70% Hands-on development & feature implementation
• 20% Collaboration with product, security, and frontend teams
• 10% API documentation & developer support
