Industrial IT Operations leader has an immediate long-term contract opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer in Spring, TX. This position requires working onsite 5x a week.
You'll be part of a LAN/WAN cyber remediation initiative. This role focuses on strengthening network and system security, with a specific emphasis on Process Control Systems, Linux/Red Hat environments, and TMS 6/TMS 7 systems.

What You Will Be Doing

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in industrial or critical infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience with Process Control Systems (SCADA, DCS, SIS).
- Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN, firewall rule validation, and VLAN design.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Familiarity with TMS 6 / TMS 7 environments is highly desirable.
- Understanding of industrial cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, proactively identify risks or improvements, and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GICSP).
- Experience working in or supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments and ICS/SCADA networks.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, support, and secure LAN/WAN environments connected to industrial control systems (ICS).
- Collaborate with Process Control and Cybersecurity teams to ensure system availability and security across SCADA and related platforms.
- Analyze and mitigate network vulnerabilities in both IT and OT infrastructures.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VLAN segmentation in accordance with industry standards.
- Administer and harden Linux-based systems, especially RHEL, used in both control system and infrastructure environments.
- Support secure configurations and integrations within TMS 6 and TMS 7 platforms.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, changes, and test results.
Participate in solution design for new control systems and support existing infrastructure optimization.
