Job Description
A top investment firm based in New York with offices here in Toronto is seeking a Data Insights Analyst to be part of their niche data team. The firm has over $20 billion in assets with a global client base including public and private pensions, endowments and private banks.
The Data Insights Analyst will be responsible for providing data-driven research to answer a variety of investment inquires. This position is part of the data team with responsibilities spanning from data sourcing/processing to analytics. This includes executing on strategic initiatives, such as working with Data Scientists to build ML models enabling processing and prediction at scale (e.g., sentiment analysis, product classification). The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial self-starter who is passionate about data analysis in the investment industry.
Previous project: Conducting surveys among US optometrists to understand trends and product positioning within the contact lens market.

Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum 3.6 GPA from a competitive university
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Experience with analysis of complex data (e.g., investment management, consulting, private equity)
- Highly numeric and detail oriented, as well as skilled at creative problem solving
- Big data preparation: Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or Python
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Preferred: Previous experience with surveys, from questionnaire development to analysis and reporting
