Firewall Engineer

A cybersecurity consulting firm is seeking a Firewall Engineer to manage and secure enterprise firewall environments. This fully remote role supports the design, operation, and security of enterprise and data center network infrastructure, with a focus on Check Point and Palo Alto platforms. The position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and includes ownership of firewall policy administration, production support, and incident response.


Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise firewalls, including upgrades, policy administration, and validation

• Administer Check Point and Palo Alto firewall platforms

• Implement firewall changes aligned with security policies

• Maintain network and security documentation

• Support enterprise and data center network infrastructure

• Monitor and tune IDS/IPS, URL filtering, antivirus, and malware detection tools

Requirements

• 4+ years hands-on with Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls

• Strong understanding of firewall rules, security policies, and network troubleshooting

• Packet capture and OSI-layer troubleshooting experience

• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
