A cybersecurity consulting firm is seeking a Firewall Engineer to manage and secure enterprise firewall environments. This fully remote role supports the design, operation, and security of enterprise and data center network infrastructure, with a focus on Check Point and Palo Alto platforms. The position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and includes ownership of firewall policy administration, production support, and incident response.
Responsibilities

Manage enterprise firewalls, including upgrades, policy administration, and validation

Administer Check Point and Palo Alto firewall platforms

Implement firewall changes aligned with security policies

Maintain network and security documentation

Support enterprise and data center network infrastructure

Monitor and tune IDS/IPS, URL filtering, antivirus, and malware detection tools
Requirements

4+ years hands-on with Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls

Strong understanding of firewall rules, security policies, and network troubleshooting

Packet capture and OSI-layer troubleshooting experience

Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
