Our client, an innovative robotics start-up at the forefront of automation technology, is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge robotics technology and contribute to the design and development of groundbreaking products. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, prototyping, and development of mechanical systems for next-generation robotics products.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components with other subsystems.
  • Drive the development of product specifications, design reviews, and detailed engineering documentation.
  • Identify and solve complex engineering problems related to mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee the testing and validation of mechanical components to ensure they meet performance, durability, and safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotics, automation, and manufacturing technologies.

Key Qualifications:

  • A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on robotics or automation systems.
  • Proven experience in leading mechanical design projects from concept through to production.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for 3D modeling and design.
  • Deep understanding of materials science, structural analysis, and thermodynamics as they relate to robotics.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, and assembly of mechanical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to approach challenges creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in startup environments and an entrepreneurial mindset is a plus.
