Full Stack Software Engineer

A robotics company based in Newport, RI is hiring a Full Stack Software Developer on a contract-to-hire basis at $75/hour. This opportunity places you at the core of a fast-moving, cross-functional software team working with robotics, mobile interfaces, and event-driven systems. You'll develop scalable, real-time software that powers physical robotic systems, using technologies like Kotlin, Flutter, Redis, and Kafka.

This is a consulting group that builds robotics infrastructure and gives engineers ownership and deep involvement across the stack. The team is highly collaborative, blending robotics, design, and backend expertise to launch tools that control and monitor robotic fleets in real-time. If you're seeking exposure to HMI design, scalable messaging systems, and modern Kotlin-based architecture, this is a rare opportunity to grow and shape a product that operates in the real world.

Required Skills & Experience

· 3+ years of professional software development experience
· Strong proficiency in Kotlin
· Experience building cross-platform mobile apps using Flutter
· Solid understanding of messaging systems
· Familiarity with Redis and pub/sub models
· Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
· Experience working in agile environments

Desired Skills & Experience

· Experience in robotics, IoT, or real-time systems
· Knowledge of Docker/containerization
· Familiarity with Azure
· Interest or experience in HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design
