Title: Finance & Automation Manager

Overview:
Our client, a defense-focused cyber security firm, is seeking a Finance & Automation Manager to modernize and optimize our financial operations through technology-driven process design. This role blends finance, accounting, and engineering- ideal for someone who thrives at automating workflows, building dashboards, and creating data-driven clarity across payroll, forecasting, and project allocation. You’ll own traditional finance responsibilities while using automation and analytics to enhance accuracy, transparency, and speed of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee core finance and accounting operations, including payroll validation, cash flow management, tax calculations, and project cost allocations.

• Design and implement automations (Python, SQL, Power BI, Excel/VBA, or similar) that streamline reporting, projections, reconciliations, and approvals.

• Develop and maintain automated dashboards for leadership visibility into budgets, forecasts, and labor utilization.

• Derive and validate fully burdened labor rates; automate project allocation tracking and expense reconciliation across cost centers.

• Integrate data across financial systems and operational tools, ensuring accuracy and real-time insight.

• Partner closely with engineering and operations to align finance automation with the team's data infrastructure and business intelligence initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A.

• Strong proficiency with automation and analytics tools (Python, SQL, Power BI, Excel/VBA, or similar).

• Experience designing or improving financial processes such as payroll validation, cost allocation, or revenue tracking.

• Comfort working in a data-centric, engineering-driven environment; ability to translate business needs into automated workflows.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical rigor, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
