DevOps Lead/ GitHub Actions

Alpharetta, Georgia

Hybrid

Full Time

$152k - $175k

Every company has a system for paying people. Few stop to think about the machinery behind it—the pipelines, the APIs, the dashboards—that keep the flow of money and recognition moving. In this case, that machinery is compensation management, and it needs someone who knows how to make CI/CD sing in a cloud-connected world.

The role is Lead DevOps Engineer, but really it’s about being the connective tissue between developers, infrastructure, and the future of automation. You’ll be inside a development-heavy environment (Java and JavaScript everywhere), shaping GitHub Actions pipelines that touch everything in sight, and making sure the APIs that talk to GCP do so without complaining. Somewhere along the way, you’ll also be brushing up against customer-facing AI tools and engineering dashboards that try to make chaos legible.

This role is Hybrid in Alpharetta. If you’ve ever wanted to be the one person in the room who can honestly say “Yes, this will scale,” this is that job.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Deep experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, with GitHub Actions as your home base

  • Strong foundation in Java or JavaScript development environments

  • Familiarity with cloud services (GCP preferred, but openness to other clouds is fine)

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Exposure to Kubernetes and cloud-native patterns

  • Familiarity with Backstage.io templates or similar engineering dashboard tools

  • Curiosity about AI-driven products and how they intersect with infrastructure work

Daily Responsibilities
  • Building & Optimizing CI/CD Pipelines: 70%

  • Team Leadership & Engineering Collaboration: 30%

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis now and in the future.

Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under Motion Recruitment’s Employment Accommodation policy. Applicants need to make their needs known in advance.
