Java Software Architect / Microservices & Modernization / Atlanta Hybrid

We’re looking for an Application Modernization Architect to lead the transformation of our Android-based point-of-sale (POS) application.

This role centers on evolving a legacy monolithic system into a modern, scalable, and cloud-native microservices architecture. The objective is to improve performance, agility, and long-term sustainability across the platform.

Responsibilities include working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to guide architectural decisions, define modernization strategies, and oversee technical implementation. The initial phase will focus on discovery—assessing the current system, identifying key areas for change, and estimating the scope of work.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in application modernization, hands-on system decomposition, and the design of distributed systems. Strong communication skills and a strategic mindset are essential for success in this role.
