Senior Network Engineer/ Cloud Security/ On-Site Boston, MA

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Network/Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) network. This role covers on-premises and cloud environments with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability. Onsite and remote support is required in a 24/7 environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, install, and support ITS networks (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing).

• Implement hybrid cloud/on-premises solutions.

• Support Windows/Linux servers, VMware, and storage systems.

• Maintain diagrams, documentation, and governance standards.

• Provide 24/7 support and travel to MassDOT sites as needed.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in network/cloud engineering and systems integration.

• Cisco routers/switches/firewalls; routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, BGP).

• VMware environments, storage, and fiber channel zoning.

• Security tech: ACLs, Citrix NetScaler, VPN, enterprise wireless.

• MODBUS protocol, Cisco DNAC, monitoring/observability tools.

• Strong documentation skills (Visio).

• Bachelor’s in CS, Telecommunications, or related field.

• Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, AWS, Azure).

Additional Requirements

• 40 lb. lifting, mobile phone, 24/7 on-call support.

• Travel to field locations as needed.
