Our client in the greater Boston area is a blood diagnostics company committed to advancing healthcare through innovative technologies. Our mission is to revolutionize diagnostic testing with cutting-edge solutions that improve patient outcomes globally. This is a hybrid company and the ideal candidate is skilled in C++ embedded work.

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Embedded Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development of next-generation medical devices used in blood diagnostics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and integrate embedded systems that meet the stringent requirements of our diagnostic instruments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in embedded software development, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Leadership experience in a limited capary
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller/microprocessor architectures and embedded system design principles.
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART) and wireless technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with software development tools (e.g., IDEs, debuggers, version control) and software lifecycle processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with FPGA programming and signal processing algorithms.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices in embedded systems.
