This Production Manager position will oversee and manage the production processes at a robotics company, ensuring the effective coordination of inventory management, bill of materials (BOM), board fabrication, surface-mount technology (SMT) processes, and return merchandise authorizations (RMA). The role requires a focus on process improvement, quality control, and leading a team to ensure smooth production operations. This position is critical in driving operational efficiency and meeting the company's high-quality standards for robotics products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    Oversee the inventory control process, ensuring raw materials and components are available for production while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing waste.

  • Bill of Materials (BOM):
    Manage and ensure accuracy of BOMs for robotics products, collaborating with engineering teams to update materials lists as required by design changes.

  • Board Fabrication & SMT Processes:
    Supervise board fabrication and SMT assembly processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, quality, and production timelines.

  • Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA):
    Manage the RMA process, including the review and analysis of returned products, ensuring effective corrective actions and root cause analysis to improve product reliability.

  • Process Improvement & Quality Control:
    Identify opportunities for process improvement in manufacturing workflows, quality control, and production efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing principles and work closely with the quality team to uphold high product standards.

  • Team Management:
    Lead and mentor a team of production staff, including technicians and engineers, to meet production goals and maintain a collaborative and efficient work environment. Provide training and performance feedback, ensuring team alignment with company objectives.

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
    Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to address production challenges, optimize resources, and ensure product delivery schedules are met.

  • Production Planning & Scheduling:
    Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring that materials, equipment, and labor resources are efficiently utilized to meet production targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in production management, preferably in a robotics, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, BOM, SMT processes, and RMA procedures
  • Proven experience with process improvement initiatives and quality control methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in production planning and scheduling software
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices

Preferred:

  • Experience in robotics manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Familiarity with ISO quality standards
