Remote Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

A growing media and advertising technology organization is expanding its Data Engineering team and hiring a full-time Senior Data Engineer. This role will focus on building and maintaining the data pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics, reporting, and business decision-making across advertising, hardware, and retail partnerships.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to have meaningful ownership over a modern cloud data platform. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, IT, product, and analytics teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality data solutions. Beyond hands-on development, you’ll influence technical direction, mentor peers, and help shape best practices as the organization continues to mature its data capabilities.

This is a remote position with EST/CST preference.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining ELT/ETL systems

• Strong proficiency in advanced SQL, data modeling, stored procedures, and query optimization

• Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery

• Strong programming experience in Python (experience with Java or Scala is a plus)

• Experience building and maintaining scalable, secure data pipelines

• Experience working in AWS environments (S3, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, or similar services)

• Ability to identify and resolve data quality and performance issues

• Experience collaborating in Agile development environments

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience creating datasets, dataflows, and dashboards in Domo or similar BI tools

• Experience integrating third-party SaaS APIs such as Salesforce

• Familiarity with MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar NoSQL databases

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native data services

• Experience contributing to CI/CD workflows and automated testing

• AWS or Snowflake certifications
