Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in the buildout and evolution of a modern, cloud-based data platform supporting enterprise analytics and reporting. The role sits within a growing engineering organization responsible for designing, building, and scaling data infrastructure used across the business.


This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, enterprise data initiative where engineering work directly supports decision-making and operational efficiency. The team is focused on transforming complex, distributed data into reliable, application-ready assets. You will work closely with other engineers and business stakeholders, gain exposure to large-scale data systems, and help shape long-term platform architecture and best practices.

This is a hybrid role in Boston, MA.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational database design and optimization

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and governance concepts

  • Proficiency in Python and at least one additional modern programming language

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Familiarity with modern data warehousing or lakehouse technologies

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale data platforms

  • Exposure to metadata-driven or ontology-based data modeling approaches

  • Familiarity with real-time or streaming data technologies

  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or downstream data consumers

  • Knowledge of data visualization or BI tools

  • Exposure to machine learning data preparation or workflows

  • Experience working with global or multi-region data systems

  • Background mentoring junior engineers or contributing to engineering standards

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing systems

  • Automate and improve data workflows for reliability and efficiency

  • Optimize database performance to support analytics and reporting use cases

  • Design and implement data storage solutions including warehouses and data lakes

  • Monitor and support data infrastructure for performance and stability

  • Implement data validation and quality controls

  • Contribute to data governance and compliance initiatives

  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders across the organization

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members

  • Evaluate and recommend new data tools and technologies
