Our client is a cutting-edge automotive robotics company at the forefront of developing and integrating advanced robotic systems in the automotive industry. Their mission is to enhance production efficiency, precision, and safety through the implementation of intelligent automation. They are looking for a skilled Robotics Technician to join their team and support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our innovative robotic systems.

As a Robotics Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of robotic systems used in automotive production environments. You will collaborate with engineers, software developers, and production staff to ensure optimal performance of robotic equipment. This role requires a hands-on, problem-solving individual who is passionate about robotics technology and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Setup: Assist with the installation and setup of robotic systems on the production floor, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and integration with other systems.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform regular preventive maintenance on robotic equipment, troubleshoot issues, and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor the performance of robotic systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently; perform diagnostic tests to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues in robotic systems, including mechanical malfunctions, software errors, and electrical problems.
  • Upgrades & Modifications: Assist with implementing system upgrades and modifications to improve functionality and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, system configurations, and upgrades to ensure proper documentation for future reference.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to provide feedback on system performance and suggest improvements for future designs.
  • Training: Provide training and technical support to production staff and operators on proper usage and handling of robotic systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all robotic systems comply with safety regulations and best practices in automotive manufacturing environments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree or certification in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working as a robotics technician, ideally in the automotive or industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in robotic system installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
    • Familiarity with industrial automation controllers (e.g., PLCs), sensors, actuators, and control systems.
    • Basic programming skills (robotic systems or PLCs) are a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions under pressure.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in manufacturing environments that may require standing, crouching, and working in tight spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automotive robotics systems such as welding robots, material handling robots, or painting robots.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices related to robotic systems in automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience with robotic programming languages (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
