Our client is a pioneering automotive start-up dedicated to developing innovative robotic solutions that redefine the automotive landscape. Their focus is on integrating cutting-edge mechatronics into their products to enhance manufacturing processes and vehicle performance. They are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer, with a mechatronics focus to lead their engineering team in creating advanced robotic systems.

As the Principal Mechanical Engineer - Mechatronics, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechatronic systems within their robotic platforms. You will lead engineering projects from concept to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of mechatronic systems, including robotic arms, sensors, and automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with software and electrical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, design reviews, and simulations to validate mechanical designs and system performance.
  • Develop and oversee testing protocols to ensure product reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechatronics and robotics.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechatronics, preferably in the automotive or robotics industry.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex mechatronic systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, robotics programming, and automation technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities, with a track record of successful team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
