Our client is seeking a skilled Robotics Technician to join their automotive manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of robotic systems used in the production of automotive components. You will play a key role in ensuring that our robotic equipment operates efficiently to meet production goals, uphold quality standards, and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair on robotic systems (e.g., welding, painting, assembly robots).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with robotic systems, including electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure that robots are programmed and configured to meet production requirements.
- Conduct tests and simulations to optimize robotic performance and reliability.
- Adjust robotic system parameters to ensure the quality of manufacturing processes.
- Support the installation, setup, and calibration of new robotic systems or upgrades.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying potential improvements to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and performance data.
- Assist with the training of production staff in the safe and proper operation of robotic systems.
- Comply with safety standards and ensure that all systems are operating within established safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field. Equivalent technical certifications and experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of experience working with industrial robotics, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of robotic systems used in automotive applications (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB, Yaskawa).
- Familiarity with robotic programming languages (e.g., RAPID, KAREL, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with robotic welding, painting, or material handling systems.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and industry standards.
- Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and automation software.
