FPGA Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced engineer to lead the design and development of circuit boards for SONAR equipment and systems, with a specific focus on FPGA design.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design efforts for circuit boards, ensuring optimal FPGA integration.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design PCBs and electronic packages.
  • Oversee the layout of circuit boards, guiding component placement and trace routing to maintain high signal integrity.
  • Manage board bring-up activities, working closely with other engineers to verify product functionality.
  • Develop and implement board-level tests and procedures to confirm electrical and engineering specifications are met.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to address engineering changes, new product transitions, and bills of material (BOM) management.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) being a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, particularly in FPGA design and verification.
  • Proficient in digital design, Verilog HDL coding (experience with Xilinx Vivado is preferred), and the use of test benches for FPGA design verification and timing.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, self-motivated, and a team-oriented mindset. Must be able to share knowledge, learn from peers, and collaborate across teams.
  • Some limited travel may be required.
  • Previous experience in the marine or SONAR industry is advantageous.
